Innovate Team Building

Unique Marimba Team-Building Sessions

Bring your team closer together with a one-of-a-kind experience that’s fun, engaging, and leaves a lasting impact. Absolutely no musical experience is required—anyone can join in and enjoy!

Our training is so uniquely long-lasting and effective that managers often find that it has a payback within a few weeks.

Why Choose Our Marimba Team Building?

Unlike traditional team-building exercises, this experience is hands-on and very memorable. This type of experiential team building has been proven to improve team dynamics. Plus, it’s just plain fun!

Effective Team-Building: We teach critical teamwork principles and use the marimba as a hands-on tool to reinforce these lessons. The multi-sensory aspect of our sessions—combining touch, sound, movement, and collaboration—is uniquely effective in making the team-building growth long-lasting.

  • Unique Shared Experience: This activity creates memories that your team will refer to and cherish for years.

  • High-Energy Fun: Led by dynamic instructors, our sessions are filled with movement and laughter.

  • Cultural Enrichment: Participants learn about Zimbabwean music and culture, adding a unique educational aspect to the experience.

Perfect for a Variety of Fun Group Activities

Whether you’re hosting a corporate event, a family reunion, or a group of friends visiting Colorado, our marimba sessions are tailored to fit your needs. No prior musical experience is required—everyone can participate and contribute to the music.

Team Building

I had an absolute blast at the Kutandara workshop! I’m not a musically inclined person but I was still able to participate and have fun! The instructors was so patient and kind and FUNNY! Everyone was smiling and laughing and in the end we were all able to come together and play a song. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

We offer instruction in music from southern Africa on Zimbabwean-style marimbas. Group classes give students an opportunity to experience music with others in a hands-on, experiential way. Students learn music, but also learn how to work together–and the importance of doing so.

In classes, you become part of a group whose success depends upon teamwork and cooperation. Discovering the advantages of working with others and contributing to the overall success of a group is a valuable lesson that we can all learn again and again. Most importantly, you will contribute to the success of the group, learning a greater appreciation for the part others can play in their own successes, and vice versa. Everyone gets to play and succeed!

Classes are small in size (6-12 students) and are offered in throughout the year to make the most of in-depth learning. School-year classes are offered August -May (Fall: 18 weeks, Winter/Spring: 20 weeks), while a shorter summer session is offered June and July.

In group marimba classes, students are introduced to all the various marimbas in the ensemble, as well as hosho (gourd rattles), traditional singing, clapping, and dance to accompany the marimba songs. Both traditional and contemporary styles are explored, as well as their cultural context.

Regardless of your own musical background, you can derive great satisfaction and enjoyment from music in our classes. Come join us!
